April 2026 Update: Regional Coordinators and Churches are now placing their survey orders

Dear Regional Coordinators,

Thank you for the generous support you provide to helping churches take part in the National Church Life Survey.

In the early stages of survey preparation, there are two important tasks to help ensure that your churches have the information they need to participate.

The first task is confirming church details

This involves checking that church names and contact details are correct, adding new churches, and noting any closures or mergers. This five-yearly update is especially important as it helps keep our national database accurate, and it supports a clear picture of Australia's changing religious landscape. And so whether or not a church participates in the 2026 NCLS, it's important that every church in a region or diocese is listed.

Update Your List:

Log in to the NCLS logistics site to update church details, close, merge or open new churches. Please contact nclsliaison@ncls.org.au if you need to find out your username.

The second task is ordering survey forms for participating churches

Most coordinators gather that information from local churches about what they need, and they place those survey orders online. Although there are some denominations where churches do place their own orders. And at this stage, making an accurate estimate of the number of surveys that you'll need for all attenders in a given church to take part is important.

Order or Track Orders:

Log in to the NCLS logistics site at any time to view or place survey orders for each church in their region or diocese.

Thank you again for the support you provide to the preparation tasks for this enormous national project. Your work makes a real difference for the participating churches and for the success overall of our project.

Please feel very welcome to contact the NCLS Research team, in particular Sam Sterland, who will be really happy to support you in any of your Regional Coordinator roles.
