Every local Christian church in Australia is invited to take part in the eighth nationwide survey of churchgoers- the 2026 National Church Life Survey.

As churches respond to social changes, it is more important than ever to have an informed approach to modern day ministry. For 35 years, the National Church Life Survey has tracked the LIFE of the Australian Church, the lives and hopes of people who attend churches all around the country.

‘Life to the full’ is the philosophy behind the survey, aiming to encouraging fullness of vitality in churches, leaders and communities.

About the 2026 NCLS

The 2026 National Church Life Survey (2026 NCLS) is designed to listen to the views of your leadership, attenders, and broader community to provide a picture of your church’s health and vitality.

Through the survey, in only 20 minutes, your church is able to listen to all your church attenders in these changing times.

Your church will receive a report to inform your decisions and lead the conversation moving into the future.

Encouraging church health and vitality

The National Church Life Survey offers your church a process that:

  • Gives each person a voice (including kids)
  • Supports your local church leader/s
  • Resources your local church
  • Tracks your own church's trends
  • Equips denominational leadership

The results will help you identify your strengths and provide processes to help you evaluate, make decisions and connect effectively with your community.
